It seems that even the Vermillion Flycatcher needs to scratch its head from time-to-time.
Posing for us.
San Joaquin 20221203
We were lucky to spot a Vermillion Flycatcher almost as soon as we entered the marsh.
Gazing out into the marsh.
And the ever present American Coot.
Beautiful eyes.
Focused on the hunting.
And speaking of hunting, this Snowy Egret is definitely on the hunt.
It moves very cautiously toward the weeds where a few fish might be hiding.
This tiny White Crowned Sparrow searches for a seed or two.
The marsh is on the flyway for Canada Geese. This guy is watching me closely, but doesn't shy away.
