On our way into the Safari Park, Ben showed us the carnivorous laughing Kookaburra. Beautiful bird. Who knew they are carnivorous?

Up close with a Laughing Kookaburra.
Next up, Ben shows us Peanut the tri-banded Armadillo. Peanut is pretty fast when he’s on the ground.
Peanut is an insectivore. Hence the large claw for digging those little pests out of the ground.
We found a bench right on Hummingbird way. Managed to catch this little guy as he flitted around.
Love how s/he gets right in that flower and gets a drink.
A wonderful statue at the bend in Tiger Trail.
And here’s the real thing. Each Tiger’s face markings and stripes are unique to the individual.
This guy really doesn’t care about those silly humans. It’s nap time, and to any cat, that’s serious work!
But this guy is up and about. No napping here!
Keeping his eyes on the prize, which appears to be the little kid next to me.
The Tiger Paces
A short video through the enclosure glass. It's fun to see these big cats in motion.
We went back out of the park, so we could come in again. Just like our cats used to do. While we’re waiting for the Roar & Snore outing, we got to meet a Tenrec.
Alyssa explains that the Tenrec is a spiny animal.
But so cute!
While the humans were eating from their lowly buffet, the Giraffes enjoyed their elevated buffet.
Sunday morning, we awake to the Roar and smell of coffee. Love waking up at the park and seeing all the animals starting their day along with us.
House of the Rising Sun. Not quite a brothel or flop house, but hey, we slept in tents! :-) Captured this for the photo club contest this month.
Baby crow breakfast. The animal keepers refer to these guys (and the rabbits, deer and other “invaders” from the surrounding land) as “free loaders!”
Another day of browsing begins for this Waterbuck. Get up and out before the day gets too hot!
There are an incredible number of different Antelope in the East Africa enclosure. Bongo Antelope?
This looks almost like a painting of these Zebra. They are beautiful up close.
