New Orleans Chair World 2015
It rained almost the whole time we were here in New Orleans. But dinner was excellent all the same!
Because of the rain, almost every picture is taken through the Tour Trolley's windows. Bummer.
Penny was very excited to see the Po Boy sign!
If the weather was a bit better, we would have enjoyed a donkey ride!
We learned so much about what it is like to live below sea level. It's not for us. These homes have been fixed up, but were completely under water.
Decorations for neighbors to enjoy!
Mother-in-law in town? Here's the place to hide.
Very colorful neighborhoods.
Our tour guide warned us that there would be a stop at the cemetary. We wondered why.
It turns out to be very fascinating how people are buried in New Orleans.
They take turns "drying out" and then other family members take their place as necessary. Hhuuummm.
Tradition is hard to overcome. And in this case, it's quite practical as well.
And parts of the cemetary are quite beautiful. Of course, money still helps.
Behind that wall is a wall of water. Not for me!
More rain and more beautiful homes.
I believe we were told that the water from the flood was over the doors in this home.
Despite the gray day, we can still see the beauty of these old homes. We were sad to leave New Orleans and all the great food. But good to head back home.
