Misc. F. G.
Some spectacular sunsets.
A family of Egyptian Geese used our pond for swimming lessons!
We have a family (several, actually) of Finches nesting in our gutters. They make a mess, but I love their songs.
A brief break from the birds as the ever-present common side-blotched lizards run around on our brick walls.
King of the wall.
He keeps an eye on me as he chases "his she."
A Black Phoebe chases insects, flitting back and forth and skimming the water.
A Black Phoebe trying to hide behind a tree, but my magic lens got him anyway.
Black Phoebe soaking in the warm sun.
This Hawk startled me and made me swear because I wasn't fast enough to catch him flying by me. But . . . he recognized my desire to take his picture an landed at the top of a nearby tree!
He stayed a long time, and posed, giving me an excellent opportunity to take my time, focus, and wait for the right shots.
Despite seeing me point a 600 mm zoom lens at him, he chose to stay and continue posing.
The many rabbits in our area are also out and about in the late afternoon and early evening. I suspect that is what Mr. Hawk is interested in.
Reaching for the sky. The time finally came for flying to new hunting grounds. And off he went.
Such a beautiful animal. And, deadly to the small prey around us.
Every evening there are several flights of Mallards. They stay just far enough away that it is almost impossible for me to zoom out and keep them in my viewfinder. Of many attempts, this was the best I could do.
Our Back Yard
"Our" Black Phoebe watching for bugs.
And dinner is served.
Mr. Bunny, finally! He tormented me the past several days by running in front of me so fast that I didn't have time to swing up the camera!
A closer look at the Black Phoebe. A very active little bird.
We're on the fly-way for ducks, but they are very hard to catch.
A White Lined Sphinx Caterpillar kept me interested for quite a while.
I’m not sure where s/he wanted to go, but it looked like it would fall off the edge several times.
