Vienna Day 7
St. Stephan's Cathedral is partially visible in the reflection of the glass at center left.
This picture doesn't do St. Stephan justice. The edifice is magnificent.
Electrification of these "candle" chandeliers was well done. Almost invisible.
And now to explore this beautiful Cathedral.
Interestingly, the front of the Cathedral is open to the public. But to get to the sanctuary, one must pay!
Ornate baroque style.
We gather for instructions.
Gargoyles to keep away the evil spirits.
So impressive, and under constant cleaning (sand blasting) and repair.
Vienna definitely lives up to its billing.
The beautiful roof of St. Stephan.
A statue depicting the horrendous deaths from the plague.
Beautiful and historic buildings everywhere. I can't possibly remember all that our guide shared with us.
Statues on rooftops, mixing of old and new buildings. Vienna is wonderful.
First glimpse of statehouse.
The detail on these buildings blows my mind.
Lots of violence depicted in these statues.
So beautiful against the blue skies.
